A Note from the Denali Borough Mayor

 

We are pleased you are considering relocating to the Denali Borough.  The Denali Borough has much to offer residents and visitors alike. Visitors marvel at the mountain grandeur, wildlife, and endless opportunities for adventure. Residents appreciate our excellent schools, tight knot communities, and the opportunity to live a unique and rewarding lifestyle.

We are home to a number of vibrant industries – the leaders being tourism, resource extraction, energy production, and missile defense.  However one makes a living here, Denali is a place where your passions and energies are rewarded.

Many people are pleased to learn the borough imposed no property taxes. Borough responsibilities include education, solid waste land use regulation, and taxation.  The primary borough revenue source is a tax on overnight accommodations. Through annual contributions, the borough supports volunteer fire departments in each community and other non-profit groups that provide services such as early childhood education, public health, library, and recreational opportunities.
